We have cabinet doors!
and hidden hinges!
These are actually pictures from last week. This week they have started painting, so we have moved out of our house and into Patrick's parents for the week. They also plan on putting in the countertops, backsplash and appliances by the end of the week. I foresee all of this running into next week, buty only time will tell!

Babyfest
Last weekend Julie and the triplets stayed the weekend. Our kitchen is still under construction, so it was quite interesting to see 4 toddlers working around that. This was the set-up for meal times:
Julie babysat the quads on Friday night so that Patrick and I could go to a friends wedding reception and then out for a couple of drinks. (Thanks Juls!)
On Saturday morning Patrick, myself, and Juls took the babies to a Kindermusik class. And then in the afternoon we took the babies to the Dallas Zoo. We met up with Aunt Jessica and Olivia, Aunt Misty, and Aunt Johnette and Milla, Amelie, and new baby Trace. We chased our kids all over that zoo trying to contain them!
Saturday night was Patricks turn to watch the quads so that we could have a girls night out. (Thanks Uncle PP!) We went to yummy Tei Tei and then out. What started out as this:
Ended as this:
We all proved that we aren't 20-something anymore!!
I loved getting a chance to hang out with everyone, but SO missed our other Shreveport friends who couldn't make it. I have high hopes for next year's babyfest!!

Kitchen Remodel #2
The kitchen is moving "slower than normal" according to our contractor. But, that being said, he is still optimistic that they will be finished by late next week!! Let's hope so! This week they built out our new island/breakfast bar and our new butlers pantry:
They have also done all of the electrical work, but that's not very fun to take pictures of. What I do have pictures of is the priming for the paint, which was done today:
The plan now is to get the countertops in by Friday and to start on the backsplash. They are also supposed to paint the cabinets and walls soon!

Kitchen Remodel 1
What once looked like this:
Now looks similar to this:
How are we surviving without a kitchen? We set up a "kitchen" table in the office along with our mini-fridge.
Our food and "high-chair" are in the den:
Our "coffee station" and "cleaning station" is in the guest bathroom:
We have a fridge in the garage that also has food and drinks. All in all, it hasn't been too bad!

Back Home
Charlie, Hank and I just got back to Dallas from our (almost) week long stay in Shreveport. We spent a lot of time eating out, playing at the park, playing outside at the Millicent house and at the Arden house, and hanging out with friends and family! Thanks to mom and dad for watching Charlie so that I could got to some fun dinners with the friends and special thanks to Lauren (and her mom) for watching Charlie so that my family could go out to eat!! Here are some of our recaps from the week:
Started off meeting at dinner on Friday night for Kristi's surprise birthday party. Here is her cake:
