Thursday

The trips and I spent the morning in our p.j.'s and playing around the house. I even got out of the house a little bit to run errands thanks to my mom and Patrick's mom for taking over baby-duty for a little while. For the afternoon, I went and got Charlie from daycare before our friends Emily and Lauren came over for a play date. Everyone had a good day!
Those kids are not supposed to be on the fireplace.

Or in Uncle Patrick's dressser!

Hi Charles

And Cooper
And baby Lauren!
This is how I felt all week... in a house of fun and chaos.

Wednesday

Everyone was up at 6 am Wednesday morning... bright and early! Charlie went to daycare. He told everyone "bye" and was ready to go. Although, his daycare workers said that he spent the whole day saying "Bubba, Bubba, Bubba", which is what we call Cooper. SO cute. I took the trips to the park in the morning... nice to get out of the house. The threesome slept from noon to 3:00, we then played indoors and visited with our friend Lee (thanks for coming to see the little ones!). I went and got Charlie late in the day and then we all went down to the Hamilton's for some fun. The bounce house was up, there was chalk, cars, old phones and the best part was that it got us our of the house again! Thanks Hamiltons!

Tuesday

Today has been a LONG day! Charlie and I typically go to a Kindermusik class on Tuesday mornings, so this morning all 4 came with me... including Patrick's mom and my mom. (THANK YOU!!) Although, all 4 babies just wanted to be in my lap pretty much the whole time, so the extra help was great, but would have been even greater had the babies gone to them. We then came home for a LONG day of playing inside and out. Remember my last post about the different schedules the babies are on? Yeah, Charlie was up at 5:40am this morning and during nap time at least one baby was up at all times. No breaks for me today. Thank you again to the two grandmothers who have gone to the store for us, carried babies when they could, cleaned up dog poo outside, fixed meals, and cleaned up after 4 toddlers... yall were a HUGE help!!
Milk cheers at dinner.

They are a mess. All in the pool fully dressed.
Snacks.

Doing something that is a no, no.
Peek-a-boo. This was a favorite among all kids.
Where's Isabelle?
Oh Charles, don't you look cute.
Snack time.

Monday

Our internet has been out for 2 days, so I sincerely appologize to the Leclercq's for not posting these sooner. Yesterday was a good day. I took the triplets to the park in the morning. Where is Charlie you ask? Daycare. I know, I'm aweful. But, there are good reasons for it. #1) The triplets run on about a 1-1.5 hr. later schedule than Charles does. This accounts for wake-up times, lunch, nap, and bed. If he's home, then I am "ON" at all times during the day. Selfish, I know. #2) I hate to be Captain Obvious, but 3 children are easier than 4. #3) Does anyone else experience this? Other peoples children just plain mind better than your own. #4) Charlie has had a difficult time adjusting to the triplets sharing his "stuff"... toys, mamas, etc. So, park in the morning and then after nap time we all went to get Charlie and had "Fun in the Sun" in the afternoon. Here are some pics (scaled down from about 45)... enjoy!
Good morning Sophia.

To the park we go!

What could be more interesting than rocks?

We got Charles! Cooper was a sport holding my hand and walking on the way back from daycare.

Water is so fun!

Rocks are even better.

They're Here!

The triplets have come to Hotel de Allen for the week. Juls and Manny are having their house painted this week, so due to paint toxins and the fact that painting is not really doable with three toddlers running around they have come to play with Charlie. Juls brought them down today and I will be returning them to OKC on Thursday. Thankfully, my mom should be here tomorrow afternoon to lend a hand and Patrick's mom will help out on Tuesday morning. So far, so good. The trips are doing excellent and Charlie is adjusting to sharing his toys and his mama and dada. Wish for us a restful night!

Scary Moment

While in Spicewood I experienced one of the most scariest moments in my life, if not THE scariest. It happened on the first day that Charlie and I went swimming. We got out of the big pool to get a snack. I, stupidly, thought that Charlie would follow me to our chair. Instead, he bee-lined it to the baby pool and fell face first in. I was watching him the whole time, so I ran as quickly as possible and scooped him up in (literally) less than 3 seconds. He was fine, just a little dumbfounded. The scariest part was in those 3 seconds I could see him fighting for something to hold onto and then just floating face down in the pool, as if he had already given up. So, lessons learned:
1) Do not trust your 17 mth old to follow you, follow him.
2) Drownings could happen in an instant. Keep hands and eyes on the child at all times.

The other thing that happened that day was that a boy, who was 7, made friends with Charlie. Charlie was in AWE of him and thought that he could do everything that Rob did. If Rob jumped off some rocks into the water, Charlie thought he could too (at which point I caught him mid-flight). If Rob jumped into the water from the side, Charlie did too (at which point I caught his hands and gently put him into the water). Both times I was out of the water and on the side. No fear, this one!! The next two days at the pool where much less stressful or eventful, thank God!

Spicewood

We just rolled back into town from being in Spicewood for part of the week. Charlie and I went down with Patrick's mom on Wed. and Patrick came down Friday night. Charlie and I got to go swimming everyday, go on golf cart rides (along with Hank), and got to play with Babo and Pops! Patrick and I were lucky enough to squeeze in a date night of dinner and a movie thanks to our helpful sitters. It was a fun trip!
