Another triplet weekend

We've been seeing a lot of Julie and the triplets lately. Ever since Julie, ahem, got laid off she has been able to travel to Dallas quite a bit. Works out great with my family!! They rolled into town last Thursday and we immediately set of to the Arboretum. It was super fun. The kids loved the pumpkins (including throwing them... why do they have to look so much like a ball?) and pulling each other around in the wagon.

Hay time.
An attempt.
Other fun activities over the weekend included catching a movie with Uncle PeePee.
We went to the SMU tailgate on Saturday. The triplets really enjoyed the parade. Charlie didn't see a bit of it since he was off running all over SMU campus.
Picnic at the park. Again, Charlie is already off and running.
Thank you to my brother Jay and, especially, Genna for coming in from Shreveport to watch the foursome all weekend. Patrick and I got to go the Rangers game on Friday night. On Saturday, our TCU Homecoming plans got ruined by the rain. But, we made up for it by staying at the Magnolia Hotel downtown and going to a nice dinner. It was an awesome night!! (Side note... if you are ever looking for an easy night away the Magnolia is great. Free open bar from 5:30-6:30pm, you get milk and cookies at night, great free breakfast in the morning, super reasonable, and across the street from Neiman's! Perfection.)

We were there. It was AWESOME!

Patrick and I scored Rangers tickets on Friday night. Thank you Bob Allen! We, somehow, ended up with all 4 tickets, so our good friends Paul and Carrie Greer met us there. Despite the rainy start, the game was super fun and in the end... Rangers WON and secured their spot in the World Series against the Giants.

Patrick rarely cries. When we got engaged? Nope. Wedding day? Nada. Birth of our first child. Again, nothing. Shedding tears when the Rangers win against the yankees?
... Check! And, with good reason. Check it out:

We stayed for about an hour after the game was over. Here are some shots of the celebration.

Check out the Greer's post for a more detailed summary of the night. It was truly amazing. I still can't believe it happened! Good luck to the Rangers in tomorrow nights game and throughout the World Series!!

If You're Happy and You Know It

Race for the Cure

This Saturday was Race for the Cure. It's crazy how many people come out for it! Such a great event. Patrick ran it in under 20 minutes! (Super fast!) And Charlie enjoyed the treats. Chocolate for breakfast? I think I will:

Pumpkin Patch

The Pumpkin Patch is back at the Arboretum. It's really awesome this year. Charlie and I had a blast there!

Checkin out a big one!

Look Who's Back!

Charlie got his cast off last Wednesday. Patrick took him. He said that Charlie just sat next to him and held his hand while they sawed off the cast. He was a little scared at first, but then was more intrigued as to what they were doing. He didn't even cry! (Through that part, at least). Then came the x-rays. Enter tears here. For some reason, Charlie REALLY hates getting x-rays. But, luckily, there shouldn't be anymore for a while. (Fingers crossed.) X-rays showed that Charlie's leg is healing nicely and they don't even want us to come back for a follow-up! Yippee! Charlie is still limping a little as if he still has the cast on, but that should pass quickly. The night he got it off, we had a bath party... he even ate dinner in the bath!! The leg was a little funky after 4 weeks of sponge baths!

What a Weekend

I enjoyed a very enjoyable, much-to-quick, weekend in Sonoma with my college girlfriends. The views where unbeatable:

The company was some of my most favorite:

And the meals where some of the best I've ever eaten:

Now, back to reality:

Check out my friend, Molly's blog, for a complete run-down of the trip. And my friend, Carrie's, for some interesting conversations that took place over the weekend.

P.S.- Thank you to Julie for taking Charlie to Shreveport for the weekend. And thanks to my family for keeping him happy and safe!

Fair Day

I mean, really... who doesn't love Fair Day? In Texas (or in Dallas, at least) all public schools get off one day for Fair Day. How awesome is that? Ours was yesterday. But, we opted to go on Sunday so that Patrick could enjoy Charlie's 1st Fair experience.

The highlight... the kids farm where they get to pick peaches, milk a cow, plant some seeds, ride a tractor, get paid for all of their hard work and buy something at the General Store.

Charlie enjoyed his first caramel apple. Yum!

Big Tex.

Charlie's first corney dog.

Other hits... seeing a horse show, seeing a 1200 lb. pig, eating a fried latte, riding a car ride, and going through the petting zoo.

Fun Playdate

Last Thursday we had a playdate with a few of our favorite friends, Rhodes and Dean. And, as an added bonus, we got to play with sweet, little Anna Carol Hardaway. We haven't seen her since she was itty, bitty. She is still the perfect mix of her parents. Thanks to Amanda for having us over!
